Program: Energy Efficiency in Water Supply and Sanitation Utilities under the Danube Learning Partnership Program (D-LeaP)
Position Title 1: Energy Efficiency Expert
Position Title 2: Water Expert
The Water Supply and Sewerage Association of Albania (SHUKALB) and the Water and Wastewater Works Association of Kosovo (SHUKOS) have joined together as a HUB to deliver the Energy Efficiency in Water Supply and Sanitation Utilities, a capacity building program for all water and wastewater utilities and their employees under the Danube Learning Partnership Program (D-LeaP), which is developed and in agreement with the International Association of Water Supply Companies of the Danube River Catchment Area (IAWD).
This Program will support participating utility companies in collecting, auditing and analyzing data related to their energy use and developing investment programs based on that data to support the reduction of energy costs and increase energy efficiency. The Program will also assist in securing the financial resources to match the investments needs for energy efficiency. The Program has been developed by the Technical Partner Econoler and will be delivered by the HUB (SHUKALB and SHUKOS) in the local language. The duration of the Program is three years and it consists of workshops as well as hands-on exercise for the utilities with support of the Trainers.
SHUKALB and SHUKOS are currently looking for local Energy Efficiency Experts, as well Water Experts who will initially undergo a Train of Trainers (ToT) program that will be delivered in Albania and Kosovo, by a group of international experts. After the ToT, the team of Energy Efficiency and Water Experts from Albania and Kosovo will be delivering the Energy Efficiency Program to the interested group of water and sewerage utilities from both countries.
The applicants interested in the Energy Efficiency Expert position should demonstrate:
Technical background: bachelor’s or master’s degree in a suitable engineering field
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in energy management in water or related utility sectors – energy efficiency programs, preventative maintenance of pumps, monitoring of energy consumption and development of load profiles, etc.
Some experience (or knowledge) of water network operations would be an advantage
Preferably: some supervisory/management experience in operations environment
Good working-level English and excellent (native) Albanian
Excellent analytical and presentation skills
Some project management experience and exposure to international/regional projects
Preferably: experience with utility-specific information systems – SCADA, GIS, modeling software, etc.
Certified to work with electrical equipment
The applicants interested in the Water Expert position should demonstrate:
Technical background: bachelor’s or master’s degree in a suitable engineering field
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in network management, NRW reduction and/or development of monitoring/telemetry/SCADA systems in water/networked industry
Some experience in pump operations would be an advantage
Preferably: some supervisory/management experience in operations environment
Good working-level English and excellent (native) Albanian
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent presentation skills
Some project management experience and exposure to international/regional projects
Preferably: experience with utility-specific information systems – SCADA, GIS, modelling software, etc.
