SHUKALB Supports the Celebration of the World Water Monitoring Day

Data 12 tetor shënon Ditën Botërore të Monitorimit të Ujit.  Të gjitha shkollat fillore anembanë Shqipërisë, që janë përfshirë në programin e SHUKALB, Sfida Botërore e Monitorimit të Ujit, në bashkëpunim me shoqëritë UK të qytetit të tyre respektiv, e festuan këtë ditë duke matur elementë specifikë të cilësisë së ujit si temperatura, turbiditeti, pH, oksigjeni i tretur në burimet ujit pranë qyteteve të tyre , të tilla si lumenj, liqene dhe det.

Programi Sfida Botërore e Monitorimit të Ujit i adresohet nxënësve të klasës së tetë në shkollat fillore në Tiranë, Durrës, Rrogozhinë, Kavajë, Elbasan, Vlorë, Sarandë, Berat, Kuçovë, Përmet, Fier, Tepelenë, Korçë, Ersekë, Pogradec, Peqin, Gramsh, Lezhë , Shkodër, Fushë-Arrëz, Bulqizë, Burrel, Pukë dhe Kukës.

Qëllimi i programit është edukimi dhe angazhimi i studentëve në mbrojtjen e burimeve ujore dhe ofrohet nga SHUKALB në bashkëpunim me Ministrinë e Arsimit, Sportit dhe Rinisë të Shqipërisë dhe financohet nga Ambasada e SHBA-së në Shqipëri.

Menaxherja e Programeve të SHUKALB, Olta Ceca, mori pjesë në aktivitetet e organizuara nga nxënësit e klasës së 8-të në shkollën fillore “Gjergj Kastrioti” në Lezhë, me rastin e Ditës Botërore të Monitorimit të Ujit.  Nën mbikëqyrjen e mësuesve të tyre të kimisë, nxënësit kryen testime të ndryshme mbi cilësinë e ujit të lumit Drin.  Nxënësit u pajisën me bluza me logon e Programit të Sfidës Botërore të Monitorimit të Ujit dhe test kits që u përdorën për monitorimin.

Kjo iniciativë u mbështet edhe nga drejtori i Shoqërisë Ujësjellës Kanalizime Lezhë (UK Lezhë) z. Zef Maçi, i cili falënderoi nxënësit dhe mësuesit e shkollës fillore “Gjergj Kastrioti” për angazhimin e tyre në këtë program dhe ofroi mbështetjen e tij në iniciativa të tilla të çmuara të ndërmarra nga SHUKALB.

Të njëjtat teste u kryen edhe në të gjitha shkollat e tjera fillore që marrin pjesë në këtë program.

Të dhënat e mbledhura nga këto teste (pH, temperatura, turbiditeti, DO) u hodhën nga studentët në faqen e internetit të programit www.worldwatermonitoringchallenge.com.[:en]

12 October signs the World Water Monitoring Day.  All the elementary schools across Albania, involved in SHUKALB’s World Water Monitoring Challenge program, in collaboration with their respective water utilities, recognized this day by measuring specific elements of water quality such as temperature, turbidity, pH, dissolved oxygen in water bodies near their cities, such as rivers, lakes, and sea.

The World Water Monitoring Challenge program targets students of eighth grade in elementary schools of Tirane, Durres, Rrogozhine, Kavaje, Elbasan, Vlore, Sarande, Berat, Kucove, Permet, Fier, Tepelene, Korce, Erseke, Pogradec, Peqin, Gramsh, Lezhe, Shkoder, Fushe-Arrez, Bulqize, Burrel, Puke, Kukes.

The programs goal is to educate and engage students in the protection of the water resources, and it is being offered by SHUKALB in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth of Albania, and funded by the US Embassy in Albania.

SHUAKLB’s Program Manager, Olta Ceca, attended the activities organised by the students of 8-th grade in “Gjergj Kastrioti” elementary school in Lezha, on the occasion of World Water Monitoring Day.  Under the supervision of their chemistry teacher, the students performed different testing on the water quality of Drin River.  The students were equipped with T-shirt stamped with the logo of World Water Monitoring Challenge Program and test kits that were used for monitoring.

This initiative was also supported and attended by the Director of Lezha Water Supply and Sewerage Company (Lezha WSSC), Mr. Zef Maci, who thanked the students and teachers of “Gjergj Kastrioti” elementary school for their commitment to this program, and offered his support in such valuable initiatives undertaken by SHUKALB.

The same tests were performed as well in all the other elementary schools that are participating in this program.
