New Investment for Lezha Water Supply and Sewerage Company Will Minimize Floods in Lezha City

Me datë 15 Janar 2020, Drejtori i Shoqërisë Ujësjellës Kanalizime Lezhë (UK), Inxh. Zef Maçi priti në zyrat e tij Ambasadorin e Zvicrës në Shqipëri, z. Adrian Maitre, i shoqëruar nga përfaqësues të tjerë të Ambasadës.  Qëllimi i takimit ishte prezantimi me projektin më të fundit të financuar nga Qeveria Zvicerane, me vlerë prej 4 milionë Euro, i cili synon minimizmin e përmbytjeve në qytetin e Lezhës.  Projekti përfshin ndërtimin e kanalizimeve për ujërat e shiut dhe ujërat e ndotura, si dhe ndërtimin e një stacioni të ri pompimi për ujërat e shiut.

Projekti u prezantua nga Drejtori Inxh. Maçi, i cili ndau me Ambasadorin dhe pjesëmarrësit e tjerë detajet e këtij projekti të rëndësishëm, si dhe përfitimet që ai do të sjellë për banorët e Lezhës.

Ambasadori Maitre u shpreh se është performanca e mirë e Shoqërisë UK Lezhë që ka bërë të mundur këto investime në qytetin e Lezhës.  “Këto investime mbështeten në performancë dhe këtë e ka arritur Shoqëria UK Lezhë, prandaj dhe ne po investojmë këtu.  Ne nuk shohim vetëm aspektet që lidhen me ujin e pijshëm por dhe menaxhimin e ujërave të ndotura dhe të shiut.  Ky është një shembull i mirë ku shkohet me partneritete përtej një projekti, dhe ky partneritet ështe i vendosur nga të dy qeveritë tona.  I gjithë synimi i këtij partneriteti ështe që Shqipëria të mbeshtetet në rrugën e saj drejt integrimit në Bashkimin Europian”,  – tha Ambasadori Maitre.[:en]

On 15 January 2020, Eng. Zef Maci, Director of Lezha Water Supply and Sewerage Company (WSSC), received at his offices the Ambassador of Switzerland in Albania, Mr. Adrian Maitre, accompanied by other Embassy representatives.  The purpose of the meeting was to present the latest project funded by the Swiss Government, with a value of 4 million Euros, which aims at minimizing the floods in the city of Lezha. The project includes the construction of a sewerage network for rainwater and wastewater, as well as the construction of a new pumping station for rainwater.

The project was presented by the Director Eng. Maci who shared with the Ambassador and other participants the details of this important project, as well as the benefits that it will bring for Lezha residents.

Ambassador Maitre stated that it is because of Lezha WSSC good performance that enabled these investments in the city of Lezha. “These investments are based on performance and this has been achieved by the Lezha WSSC, which is why we are investing here.  We do not focus only in drinking water but also the management of wastewater and rainwater. This is a good example of partnership beyond a project, and this partnership is established by both our governments. The whole purpose of this partnership is for Albania to be supported on its path towards European Union integration”, – said Ambassador Maitre.[:]
