SHUKALB Participates at the 1st Project Advisory Board (PAB) Meeting and the 1st RCDN Networking Meeting

The Water Supply and Sewerage Association of Albania (SHUKALB) has received financing for a Grant titled “Strengthened Responsive Services to the WSS Sector-Specific Needs in Albania through Capacity Development and Advocacy Activities” in the frame of the Regional Capacity Development Network (RCDN+) Project, implemented by GIZ Open Regional Fund for Southeast Europe – Modernization of Municipal Services (ORF MMS)”.
In this framework, SHUKALB aims at carrying out high quality capacity development programs to support water utilities, municipalities and other relevant stakeholders, along with intensifying the dialogue and advocacy efforts, contributing to providing better water supply and sanitation services to citizens.
During 26-27 September 2023, RCDN+ organized the 1st Project Advisory Board (PAB) and Networking Meeting in Podgorica, Montenegro.
The 1st RCDN Project Advisory Board Meeting was organized on 26 October with the participation of the nominated PAB members, Representatives of GIZ and SECO, WB and IFIs. The meeting launched the RCDN+ PAB as an open regional exchange platform and adopted its Rules of Operation such as, to build a common understanding on RCDN+ approach; to agree upon the next steps in operationalizing RCDN+ and to exchange with other stakeholders on evolving trends in the sector and coordinate efforts.
The 1st RCDN Networking Meeting was organized for two days, 26-27 September, with the participation of representatives of Local Government Associations and Water Utilities Associations , NALAS, IAWD and GIZ.
The meeting built a common understanding on the key elements and logic of intervention of RCDN+; familiarized associations with the Operational Plan, Monitoring and reporting process, and endorsed and prioritized CD measures.
SHUKALB was represented at these activities by Elisabeta Poci, Executive Director and Jonida Ahmeti, Training and Professional Development Manager. The meeting was moderated by Evis Gjebrea, Deputy General Director, Tirana Water Supply and Sewerage Company.
