SHUKALB Participates at the RCDN Training on EU Fundraising and Project Development
From May 12 to May 17, 2024, the Regional Capacity Development Network (RCDN) organized a comprehensive training session in Bar, Montenegro, focusing on EU fundraising and project development. This training was specifically designed for associations eligible for the current EURO MED 4th Call for Thematic projects. The Western Balkan economies eligible for the EURO MED Program, and thus the training, included Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.
The aim of this training was to equip these associations with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully navigate the complexities of EU fundraising. Attendees included representatives from RCDN partner associations of local governments (LGAs) and associations of water utilities (APUCs) from the aforementioned eligible Western Balkan countries.
SHUKALB was represented by Alban Kushi, Manager of Member Services, and Leonida Hoxha, an intern. Their participation underscored SHUKALB’s commitment to enhancing its capacity in EU project development and fundraising.
The training was conducted by expert trainers Vanja Starovlah, Darko Mrvaljević and Miodrag Kolić from the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe (NALAS). The trainers provided in-depth coverage of several areas, to include: Awareness of EU Funding Opportunities; Avoiding Common Mistakes; Understanding Project Evaluation; Project Cycle Management; Situation Analysis and Problem Identification; Logical Framework Matrix Approach; Application Package Elements, and Drafting Project Proposals.
The training was highly interactive, engaging participants in practical exercises and group work to reinforce learning and facilitate the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. This hands-on approach ensured that participants not only learned the concepts but also put their application in practice through the different exercises applying them.
