SHUKALB Participates in the “Bayern – Fit for Partnership” Program

From September 23 to 27, a delegation from Albania participated in the “Water Management for Albania” event in Bavaria, Germany. The event was organized by em&s – expert in markets and sciences, in collaboration with the German Association of Industry and Trade in Albania (DIHA), as part of the “Bayern – Fit for Partnership” program. This international training initiative is supported by Bayern International and funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The Albanian delegation included representatives from various Water Supply and Sewerage Companies, such as those from Tirana, Shkoder, Pogradec, Gjirokaster, and Sarande, along with officials from the National Agency of Water Supply and Sewerage, the National Environment Agency, GIZ Albania, and private companies like Hidro Mentori shpk, Novamat shpk, Water Boutique. DIHA and SHUKALB were also part of the delegation.

SHUKALB was represented by Mr. Alban Kushi, Manager of Member Services, who was invited to speak at the event. His presentation, titled “Snapshot of the Albanian Water Supply and Wastewater Sector,” provided an insightful overview of Albania’s water sector, highlighting its institutional framework, major ongoing reforms, sector performance indicators, investment needs in water and wastewater, as well as the challenges and opportunities for improvement. Mr. Kushi also shared practical advice for Bavarian companies seeking to enter the Albanian market.
The program also included visits to several leading companies, such as the Wilo SE, Huber SE, Siemens AG, Kemnath Wastewater Treatment Plant, Föckersperger Maschinen GmbH, and BIOWORKS Verfahrenstechnik GmbH. Additionally, participants attended the Nuremberg Forum and Fair for Sewage, held on September 26 in Fürth.

The participants highly valued the program, describing it as an excellent opportunity to explore a wide range of innovative products, services, and technologies in water and wastewater management. They also appreciated the chance to establish valuable contacts with Bavarian companies in the field.
