Pranvera Hamataj: Challenges and Commitment in the Vital Water Supply and Sewerage Sector
The water supply and sewerage sector is one of the key pillars of public infrastructure, directly impacting the quality of life and health of citizens. One of the professionals who has embraced this challenge with dedication and determination is Pranvera Hamataj, Commercial Director at the Fier Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company (Fier RWSSC).
A Diverse Professional Journey
Pranvera Hamataj graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana, specializing in Finance, in 1990. With over 23 years of experience at Albpetrol SHA, she decided to transition into the water supply and sewerage sector in 2019, taking on the role of Commercial Director for the water supply and sewerage utility of Fier.
In 2022, with the Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 302, dated 11.05.2022, the restructuring of the water supply and sewerage sector was carried out, merging Fier water utility with three other water utilities – Patos, Roskovec, and Mallakastër. The primary goal of this process was to improve the quality of the water supply and sewerage services throughout the entire region.
Challenges and Commitment in Public Service Management
As a professional with extensive experience in financial management, Pranvera Hamataj has faced numerous challenges in managing the finances of the Fier RWSSC. The water supply sector carries problems inherited over the years, but through restructuring and new investments by the government, opportunities are being created for higher-quality and more efficient services for citizens.
“Providing solutions to the problems citizens face is a pleasure,” she says, emphasizing that future investments will help improve service quality and ensure timely resolution of citizens’ complaints.
An important aspect is also the standardization of services and tariffs across the sector, creating a fair system for all consumers.
A Message for the New Generation
The water supply and sewerage sector remains a strategic area for the economic and social development of the country. Pranvera calls on young people to get involved and contribute to this vital sector.
“I advise the younger generation to have the desire to work in this sector and take it forward. With dedication and professionalism, we can make great changes to improve the quality of life for our citizens,” she says.
