Towards the objective of delivering capacity development products and improving the performance of the water utility companies, SHUKALB has engaged in Regional Partnerships and Projects with the aim of expanding and diversifying the capacity development products and programs developed in the region for the staff of the water supply and sewerage companies in Albania.
D-LeaP Capacity Development Programs
The Danube Learning Partnership (D-LeaP) is designed as a regional, integrated and sustainable capacity building initiative of national water utility associations and IAWD, the International Association of Water Service Companies in the Danube River Catchment Area, and provides a comprehensive curriculum to the staff of water and wastewater utilities located in the Danube region.
The primary target audience of D-LeaP programs consists of the water and wastewater utility companies of the countries in the Danube region and their management and technical staff. Out of the 17 countries that are covered by D-LeaP, utilities in 12 countries are expected to have a particular interest in D-LeaP programs based on the level of development of their utility sector: those are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine.
The D-LeaP capacity development programs offer a combination of theory and practice, enabling participants to analyze specific indicators of their company’s performance and therefore produce an action plan with specific objectives that the company can use to make the necessary interventions.
The Danube Learning Partnership (D-LeaP) offers a range of programs that are developed at regional level and delivered by SHUKALB in Albanian language jointly with the Water and Wastewater Works Association of Kosovo (SHUKOS). The offered programs are listed as follows:
