Preparation and implementation of a 2-day Capacity Building Workshop in Albania on the Management of Wastewater in the context of a Circular Economy
The delivery of the 2-day Capacity Building Workshop on the Management of Wastewater in the context of a Circular Economy prepared and implemented in the framework of the Project “Promoting the Sustainable Management of the Natural resources in South-Eastern Europe, financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and implemented by GWP-Med in partnership with UNECE.
The objective of the workshop was to increase the capacities of the representatives of the different stakeholders in the water sector with regards to the circular economy in relation to wastewater management, and in the context of the environmental acquis communautaire of the European Union (EU).
The workshop addressed wastewater management in the context of circular economy, by introducing a shift in the mind-set of water professionals that sees wastewater treatment process as a water resource recovery opportunity, thus capturing the wastewater’s value.

Regional Knowledge Network for Better Wastewater Management
This project was a joint action of the Western Balkans Partnership and was funded by GIZ under its Open Regional Fund. The aim of the project was to enhance the regional knowledge on appropriate wastewater treatment technologies in communities of less than 10,000 people. (Total Budget: Eur 280,000, SHUKALB share: Eur 80,000)
