Development of a Project Document for the Implementation of Nature-Based Solutions for Wastewater Treatment in Two Rural Areas in the Drin River Basin
The project document on ‘’Development of a Project Document for the implementation of Nature-Based Solutions for Wastewater treatment in two rural areas in the Drin River Basin’’ was developed in the frame of SEE Nexus project funded from Austrian Development Agency (ADA) implemented from Global Water Partnership for Mediterranean (GWP-Med). The project document was sub-contracted to be developed to the consortium composed from IRIDRA consultants, SHUKALB – Water Supply and Sewerage Association of Albania) and BOKU – University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.
The scope of the project document was to identity, assess and design two pilot projects for implementation of a natural based solution (NBS) with the purpose to treat out the wastewater in rural areas in Albania and Kosovo. Through the project document the consultant considered several technologies and proposed the most optimal solution for implementation, by applying as well the NEXUS (Water-Energy-Food Ecosystems Nexus) approach.
