Albanian Officials Featured as Speakers on the Danube Water Conference Program

Konferenca e Ujit të Danubit u mbajt në datat 11-13 maj 2016, në Vjenë, Austri, e organizuar bashkërisht nga Banka Botërore dhe Shoqata Ndërkombëtare e Kompanive të Furnizimit me Ujë të Basenit të Lumit të Danubit (IAWD). Tema e konferencës për këtë vit ishte “Adresimi i sfidave të dyfishta” dhe fliste rreth sfidave në përmbushjen e kërkesave të BE-së, dhe njëkohësisht adresimin e sfidës botërore në përmirësimin e qasjes në shërbimet e ujit dhe kanalizimeve.

Midis 180 pjesëmarrësve nga rajoni e Danubit, një delegacion prej 14 pjesëmarrësish nga Shqipëria, që përfaqësonin ministritë, institucionin rregullator të ujit, bashkitë dhe shoqëritë UK, si dhe SHUKALB, ishin të pranishëm në Konferencë.

Pjesëmarrësit Shqiptarë luajtën një rol aktiv në Programin e Konferencës, ku ata prezantuan dhe u përzgjodhën si panelistë në sesione të ndryshme si mëposhtë:

• Evis Gjebrea, Nën Drejtoreshë e Përgjithshme, Ujësjellës Kanalizime Tiranë, prezantim mbi “Qeverisja e brendshme: një shembull i orientimit të konsumatorit”

  

• Voltana Ademi, Kryetare e Bashkisë Shkodër, si panelist në “Institucionet: Kuptimi i drejtë i qeverisjes së kompanive: Është vërtet e rendësishme?”
• Philip Giantris, Drejtor Ekzekutiv, SHUKALB, panelist në “Informacion: Vetëm të Dhënat nuk Janë Mjaftueshëm: Si Munden Shoqëritë UK dhe Politikëbërësit të Mbledhin dhe Përdorin Informacionin më Mirë”
• Petrit Tare, Drejtor i UK Korçë dhe President i SHUKALB, prezantim mbi “Vendet kandidate: B & H dhe Shqipëria – Përgatitja dhe sfidat përpara”

  Lindita Sotiri, Drejtore e Integrimit Evropian, Ministria e Transportit dhe Infrastrukturës, panelist në “Sesioni Mbyllës: Sfida e Dyfishtë e Adresuar?”

The Danube Water Conference was held on 11-13 May, 2016, in Vienna, Austria, jointly organized by the World Bank and the International Association of Water Supply Companies in the Danube River Catchment Area (IAWD).  The theme of the Conference for this year was “Addressing the Double Challenge” and it spoke to the challenge of meeting EU requirements, while at the same time addressing the global challenge of improving the access to water and sanitation services.

Among the 180 participants from the Danube region, a delegation of 14 participants from Albania, representing ministries, the water regulatory institution, municipalities, and utilities, as well as SHUKALB, were present at the Conference.

The Albanian participants played an active role in the Conference Program, where they presented and were featured as panelists in different sessions as follows:

• Evis Gjebrea, Vice General Director, Tirana Water Supply and Sewerage Company,

  

  presentation on “Internal Governance: An Example of Customer Orientation”.

• Voltana Ademi, Mayor, Shkodra Municipality, panelist on “Institutions: Getting Utility Governance Right – Does It Really Matter?“.
• Philip Giantris, Executive Director, SHUKALB, panelist on “Information: Data Alone Is Not Enough: How Can Utilities and Policy Makers Collect and Use Information Better”.
• Petrit Tare, General Director, Korca Water Supply and Sewerage Company and President of SHUKALB, presentation on “Candidate Countries: BiH and Albania – Preparation and Challenges Ahead”

• 

  Lindita Sotiri, Director of European Integration, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, panelist at the “Closing Session: The Double Challenge Addressed?”
