UK Vlora: Major Pipeline Investments to Improve Water Supply to Citizens

Gjatë 2017, Shoqëria Ujësjellës Kanalizime Vlorë (UK Vlorë) ka realizuar me sukses dy investime të rëndësishme për rikonstruksionin e linjave kryesore të furnizimit me ujë të qytetit të Vlorës, përkatësisht në Lagjen “Lirim”, pranë Bashkisë dhe në Zonën e Ujit të Ftohtë (nga Akademia e Marinës deri te 7 pallatet).  Këto janë zona shumë të vjetra të qytetit të Vlores të cilat për një kohë të gjatë kanë vuajtur nga mungesa e furnizimit me ujë në mënyrë të vazhdueshme.  Investimet konsistojnë në zëvendësimin e tubave të vjetra dhe të amortizuara të gizës me tuba të reja polietileni me me densitet të lartë (HDPE).  Zëvendësimi i këtyre tubacioneve lindi si domosdoshmëri si për shkak të rikonstruksionit të disa rrugëve në qytet ashtu edhe për të përmirësuar situatën e furnizimit të abonentëve.

Keto investime janë pjesë e projekteve madhore të qeverisë Shqiptare për rikonstruksionin e rrugëve përkatëse në qytetin e Vlorës.  Këto investime kanë për qëllim përmirësimin e furnizimit me ujë të Zonës në të cilën janë zbatuar, zëvendësimin e tubacionit të vjetër dhe të amortizuar, i ndërtuar që në vitin 1940, me tubacion të ri plastik i cili përmbush kërkesat e projekteve dhe standardet, dhe vendosjen e lidhjeve të reja në linjen e Ujësjellësit.

Gjithashtu, në rrugën Dhimitër Konomi në Vlorë, firma zbatuese e projektit të rikonstruksionit të kësaj rruge ka realizuar zëvendësimin e 2 tubave të vjeter D700 me një tub të ri D900 në një gjatësi prej 1.2 km.  Ky investim madhor ka bërë të mundur që të shtohen orët e furnizimit me ujë për banorët e zonës, furnizimin më të shpejtë të depove, eliminimin e humbjeve dhe vendosjen e lidhjeve të reja të abonentëve në linjën e re.

Administratori i UK Vlorë, Z. Dorian Xhelili shprehet se këto investime janë vetëm fillimi i një projekti të madh me qëllim përmirësimin e cilësisë së jetesës së qytetarëve nëpërmjet përmirësimit të cilësisë së ujit dhe shtimit të orëve të furnizimit.  Një zonë shumë problematike e qytetit të Vlorës në drejtim të furnizimit me ujë ka tashmë një zgjidhje optimale.  Për të përmirësuar shërbimin ndaj qytetarëve UK Vlorë do të jetë gjithmonë në kërkim dhe zhvillim të investimeve dhe projekteve të reja.[:en]

During 2017, the Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Vlora (UK Vlora) has successfully completed two important investments for the reconstruction of major water supply lines in the urban sections of Vlora, respectively in the “Lirim” neighbourhood, near the Municipality building, and at Uji i Ftohte area. These are some of the oldest areas in the urban part of the Municipality of Vlora, which for a long time have suffered the lack of continuous water supply.  Investments consist in replacing old and decayed cast-iron pipes with new high density, polyethylene pipe (HDPE).  The replacement of these pipelines became a necessity due to the reconstruction of several streets in the urban areas, as well as to improve the water supply service to the citizens.

These investments are part of the major projects undertaken by the Albanian Government for the reconstruction of street infrastructure in the Municipality of Vlora.  These investments are aimed at improving water supply service in the area by replacing old and damaged pipeline, some of which were installed was early as 1940, with new plastic pipelines that meet project requirements and standards, and establishing new connections to the water pipeline.

Also, at Dhimitër Konomi Street in Vlora, the contractor engaged for the reconstruction of this Street has completed the replacement of 2 old pipes D700 with a new one D900 pipe at a length of 1.2 km.  This major investment has enabled to increase the timing of water supply service for the residents of the area, a faster supply of the reservoirs, elimination of losses and establishing new customer connections to the new pipeline.

The Administrator of UK Vlora, Mr. Dorian Xhelili, said that these investments are just the beginning of a number of major projects, which aim to improve the quality of life of Vlora residents through improving water quality and increasing the hours of water supply.  A very problematic area of Vlora in terms of water supply now is now in a better situation because of these completed investments.  UK Vlora will always be looking for new investments and developing new projects, in order to improve the service to its citizen.[:]
