SHUKALB Participates at the Roundtable of Danube Region Water Utility Associations

Në kuadër të Partneritetit të Danubit (D-LeaP), më 14 shtator, në Vienë, IWAD organizoi një tryezë të rrumbullakët me pjesëmarrjen e Shoqatave Ujësjellës Kanalizime të Rajonit të Danubit. SHUKALB u përfaqësua në takim nga Drejtori Ekzekutiv, Z. Philip Giantris dhe Znj. Elisabeta Poci, Zv/ Drejtore Ekzekutive e SHUKALB dhe Nën/Kryetare e Këshillit të Komitetit të D-LeaP.

Takimi filloi me prezantimin e një pasqyre të D-LeaP: prezantimi i HUB-ve aktuale, statusi i implementimit dhe dhënies së Programit nga HUB-et, sfidat e hasura nga Sekretariati i D-LeaP dhe nga HUB-et në zbatimin e programeve D-LeaP, aspektet financiare , etj. Pjesëmarrësit diskutuan mbi qeverisjen e D-LeaP, çështjet e menaxhimit dhe tema të tilla si: si të adresohen sfidat e hasura nga HUB-et; mbështetja që u nevojitet HUB-eve në sigurimin dhënies së programeve të shëndetshme; ndryshimet që nevojiten për të përmirësuar zbatimin, etj.

Gjatë takimit u dhanë informacion rreth Granteve ndaj Shoqatave dhe u ngritën takime dypalëshe për të dhënë sqarime të nevojshme mbi dorëzimin e aplikimeve apo kryerjen e punës së nevojshme.  Në fund, u ofrua informacion mbi projektin Rrjeti Rajonal i Zhvillimit të Kapaciteteve (RCDN), i cili ka filluar si bazë për të mbështetur më tej shoqatat ujësjellës kanalizime në Ballkanin Perëndimor dhe për të forcuar marrëdhëniet dhe kapacitetet e shoqërive ujësjellës kanalizime dhe qeverisjeve lokale.

Të nesërmen, më 15 Shtator, u organizua Asambleja e Përgjithshme e 25-të e IAWD-së, ku u prezantuan çështje të ndryshme biznesi dhe u ofrua mundësia për të mësuar rreth programeve të zotëruara nga IAWD dhe për t’iu bashkuar diskutimit për zhvillimin e mëtejshëm të këtyre aktiviteteve.

SHUKALB është optimist për ndikimin që programet e D-LeaP do të kenë në shoqëritë ujësjellës kanalizime në Shqipëri dhe duke filluar nga muaji tetor, së bashku me SHUKOS, ka planifikuar ofrimin e tre programeve të D-LeaP (Efiçenca Komerciale, Efiçienca e Energjisë dhe Menaxhimi i Humbjeve të Ujit).[:en]

In the framework of the Danube Learning Partnership (D-LeaP), on 14 September, in Vienna, the IWAD organized a Roundtable with the participation of Danube Region Water Utility Associations. SHUKALB was represented at the meeting by its Executive Director, Mr. Philip Giantris and Ms. Elisabeta Poci, the Deputy Executive Director of SHUKALB, and Vice/Chair of the D-LeaP Committee Council.

The meeting started with presentation of an overview of D-LeaP: introduction of the current HUBs, the status of Program implementation and delivery by HUBs, challenges encountered by the D-LeaP Secretariat and by the Hubs in implementing D-LeaP programs, financial aspects, etc.  Participants discussed D-LeaP Governance, management issues, and topics such as: how to address challenges encountered by Hubs; the support needed by Hubs in providing sound program delivery; changes needed to improve implementation, etc.

During the meeting, information was provided on the Grants to Associations and bilateral meetings were set up to provide clarifications needed in submitting applications or carrying out the needed work.  At the end, information was provided on the Regional Capacity Development Network (RCDN) project, which is beginning as a basis to further support utility associations in the Western Balkans and to strengthen the relations and capacities of water utilities and municipal governments.

On the next day, 15 September, 25^th General Assembly of IAWD was organized, IAWD presented various business topics and the opportunity was offered to learn about programs maintained by IAWD and to join the discussion on developing these activities further.

SHUKALB is optimistic about the impact that the D-LeaP programs will have on Albanian water utilities and starting in October, jointly with SHUKOS, has already planned the delivery of three D-LeaP programs (Commercial Efficiency; Energy Efficiency,  and Non-Revenue Water Reduction).[:]
