Vlora Water Supply and Sewerage Company Takes Measures for Cleaning the Sewerage Pumping Stations

As part of the measures for the tourist season, Vlora WSS Company has started an action for the cleaning of its sewerage pumping stations in the city of Vlora, as well as along the coastline. The sewerage pumping stations are facilities of particular importance and are treated as such by the utility operators with full attention, especially in this period of the tourist season.

The tourist season quadruples the number of population in Vlora, which in turn increases the load into the sewerage network. That is why the stations are being cleaned periodically, and more frequently during this period of the year. In addition, necessary services and maintenance are done to the pumps, as well as the electrical control panels. Attention has also been paid also to the maintenance of sewerage stations in “Lungomare”, the coastal boulevard and in Orikum.

During the works, blockages of the pumps due to waste disposal were recorded. For this reason the utility has called on to the citizens not to throw waste into the network as it affects the operation of the sewers.
