SHUKALB Delivers Successfully the RCDN Training and Peer Exchange on “Capital Investment Infrastructure Projects in the Water Sector”

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the comprehensive training and peer exchange event on Capital Investment Infrastructure Projects in the Water Sector, held from May 21-24, 2024, in Prishtina, Kosova. This event was a significant milestone organized in framework of the Regional Capacity Development Network (RCDN) Project, which continues to uphold the highest standards of excellence in professional development within the region.

Event Highlights

The training brought together an impressive cohort of representatives from Water Supply and Sewerage companies across Berat, Shkoder, Vlore, Gjirokaster, and Elbasan. Designed to empower participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to lead complex infrastructure projects, the training covered every aspect from initial planning to full-scale implementation, providing attendees with a comprehensive toolkit for success.

The sessions were expertly moderated by:

• Cand PhD. Sokol Xhafa, University of Business and Technology, Prishtina.
• Evis Gjebrea, a renowned expert from Albania.
• Albert Salltakaj, Engineer in the Technical Department at the Regional Water Company “Hidroregjioni Jugor”, Prizren, Kosova.

Their combined expertise and guidance were instrumental in delivering a robust and insightful training program.

Peer Exchange Sessions

The Peer Exchange Sessions enhanced participants’ knowledge by providing insights into the implementation of water supply infrastructure projects and facilitating the sharing of experiences and best practices from their municipalities and communities.

Site Visit to Shkabaj Drinking Water Treatment Plant

A key feature of the event was a visit to the Shkabaj Drinking Water Treatment Plant. Here, participants were introduced to the plant’s good practices, the main challenges faced, and the lessons learned during the planning and implementation phases. This visit provided a real-world context to the theoretical knowledge gained during the training, showcasing the processes and technologies applied in a practical setting.
