  • Seven New Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Companies Established in the Framework of the New Reform in the Sector

During July 2022, seven new Regional Water Supply and Sewerage (RWSS) Companies were established, bringing the total number of new RWSS Companies to ten (10) throughout Albania, including Durres, Korçe and Progradec, which completed the process during June 2022.

The seven new regional companies are:

  1. Kukes Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, which will serve the municipalities of Kukes, Tropoje and Has
  2. Diber Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, which will serve the municipalities of Diber, Bulqize, Mat and Klos
  3. Lezhe Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, which will serve the municipalities of Lezhe, Mirdite and Kurbin
  4. Fier Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, which will serve the municipalities of Fier, Patos, Roskovec and Mallakaster
  5. Lushnje Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, which will serve the municipalities of Lushnje and Divjake
  6. Elbasan Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, which will serve the municipalities of Elbasan, Librazhd, Gramsh, Cerrik, Belsh and Peqin.
  7. Gjirokaster Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, which will serve the municipalities of Gjirokaster, Tepelene, Kelcyre, Permet, Libohove, Dropull and Memaliaj

As it is foreseen in the Decision of the Council of Ministers no. 302, dated 11.5.2022, for the the establishment of 15 RWSS Companies throughout Albania, it is expected that in the coming months 5 other WSS Companies will be established, in Tirana, Shkoder, Berat, Vlore and Sarande.[:]
