FUNDAMENTALS OF WATER SYSTEM HYDRAULICS

Hydraulics is the fundamental science for water professionals. Water in motion produces forces and pressure whenever the velocity, flow direction or elevation changes. Identifying the pressure and flow at a certain point of the pipe, helps determining the pipe size and capacity. In addition, it helps to identify the type of pipeline material needed in a specific situation.

Furthermore, good knowledge in hydraulics are needed for the professionals when deciding whether the water pressure reducers or pumps are necessary for transporting water in an effective manner.
