The utility that is prepared will be more effective at responding to \u00a0and\u00a0 recovering from \u00a0disaster. This training course aims to raise awareness on the role of planning in emergency management and in reducing their consequences.<\/p>\n<p>This training course addresses issues related to emergency causes in water supply and sewerage utilities, vulnerability assessment of major system components from emergencies and natural disasters, mitigating measures for system components, as well as drafting a preparedness plan (emergency plan).<\/p>\n<p>Participants will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively address the complete emergency management cycle.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Target Group<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This training course has been developed for professionals of\u00a0 water supply and sewerage utilities,\u00a0 \u00a0and\u00a0 \u00a0it\u00a0 \u00a0is\u00a0 \u00a0especially\u00a0\u00a0 useful\u00a0 \u00a0for managers, engineers, technicians and operational and maintenance staff.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Objectives of the Training Cours<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>At the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognize the importance of planning for disasters;<\/li>\n<li>Establish \u00a0the\u00a0 \u00a0potential\u00a0 \u00a0effects\u00a0 \u00a0of probable disaster hazards on each component of the system;<\/li>\n<li>Identify critical system components;<\/li>\n<li>Identify mitigation measures for each category of the system components;<\/li>\n<li>Develop the mitigation measures for each category of the system components;<\/li>\n<li>Recognize \u00a0the\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0importance\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0of emergency preparedness planning;<\/li>\n<li>Recognize the \u00a0basic \u00a0principles \u00a0of \u00a0a preparedness plan;<\/li>\n<li>Analyse the type and the severity of the emergency;<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate response and preparedness plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Training Method<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The training is based on lectures presented in PowerPoint, combined with discussions and case studies. In addition to lectures and discussions, participants will analyse specific case studies.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Training Course Materials<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The participants of this training course will be provided with the Training Manual \u201cCrisis and Emergency Management\u201d.
