Therefore, preservation and protection of these sources and practices application to prevent potential pollution is a necessity. Water Supply and\u00a0 Sewerage Utilities must implement sanitary risks requirements and regulations for the wells location. The workers must operate and consistently maintain the wells in a properly manner. This \u00a0training course provides\u00a0 knowledge on installation, repair and maintenance of well components. In addition, the testing of the wells&#8217; performance and the variety of the pumping\u00a0 tests \u00a0will \u00a0be \u00a0addressed\u00a0 and discussed during the training.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>T<\/strong><strong>arget Group<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This training course is developed for professionals of\u00a0 water supply and sewerage utilities and it is especially useful for directors of technical departments, maintenance and operation engineers, as \u00a0well \u00a0as \u00a0design\u00a0 and production engineers.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Ob<\/strong><strong>jectives of the Training Course<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>At the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify some of the potential sources of groundwater pollution;<\/li>\n<li>Recognize the legislation regarding the well protection;<\/li>\n<li>Define the factors that should consider while designing a well field;<\/li>\n<li>Identify the types of wells;<\/li>\n<li>Identify the purposes of each surface features of the well;<\/li>\n<li>Identify the factors that affects maintenance of well;<\/li>\n<li>Know the procedure for abandoning and plugging a well;<\/li>\n<li>Identify and recognize the problems caused by the sand;<\/li>\n<li>Identify the available methods to reduce sand production;<\/li>\n<li>Explain the procedures for testing well yield;<\/li>\n<li>Explain the importance of well- designed and installed components, in terms of protection from contamination;<\/li>\n<li>Identify the types of test for specific wells.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>T<\/strong><strong>r<\/strong><strong>aining Method<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The training is based on lectures presented in Power \u00a0Point, combined with discussions. In addition to lectures and discussions, participants will analyse specific case studies.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>T<\/strong><strong>r<\/strong><strong>aining Course Materials<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The participants of this training course will be provided with the Training Manual on \u201cWells Operation\u201d.
