Therefore, the possession of \u00a0some general knowledge about the overall function and construction of the wastewater treatment plant is necessary to effectively operate specific treatment units.<\/p>\n<p>This training course aims to introduce participants with wastewater characteristics, basic concepts for its treatment, and variety of the treatment methods.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Target Group<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This training course is developed for professionals of water supply and sewerage utilities, and it is especially useful for technicians, engineers and specialists working in wastewater treatment plants, as well as for the specialists of wastewater collection sector who aspire working in a treatment plant.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Objectives of the Training Course<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>At the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify various types of waste discharges;<\/li>\n<li>Explain the importance of wastewater treatments and introduce the effects that discharge of untreated wastewater has on humans and the environment;<\/li>\n<li>Comprehend the composition of wastewater and describe its physical, chemical and biological characteristics;<\/li>\n<li>Describe various types of wastewater treatment plants;<\/li>\n<li>Comprehend the schematic plan layouts of a typical wastewater treatment plant;<\/li>\n<li>Describe various types of process units used for preliminary, primary and secondary treatment and explain how they achieve the target level of treatment;<\/li>\n<li>Distinguish between mechanical and biological treatment;<\/li>\n<li>Explain the various types of units used for solids treatment;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Training Method<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The training is based on lectures presented in PowerPoint, combined with discussions and case studies. In addition to lectures and discussions, participants will make a study visit at a wastewater treatment plant.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Training Course Materials<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The participants of this training course will be provided with the Training Manual \u201cOverview of Wastewater Treatment Plant\u201d.
