Real losses, which included leakages, are one of the main components of non- revenue water.They cause damages to the water distribution network and affect the quality of drinking water. Therefore, their proper control and management is essential. In this training course the participants will acquire the basic knowledge on developing strategies on leakage management and detection, as well as explaining pressure management techniques\u00a0 and \u00a0design District Metering Areas (DMA).<\/p>\n<h4><strong>T<\/strong><strong>arget Group<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This training course is developed for professionals of water supply and sewerage utilities and it is especially useful for directors of distribution and technical department, operation and maintenance engineers, metering engineers and production engineers.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Ob<\/strong><strong>jectives of the Training Course<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>At the end of this training course, the participants will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the basic leakage control strategies;<\/li>\n<li>Describe the performance indicators for leakage;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>List the issues that should be considered while formulating a leakage plan;<\/li>\n<li>Identify the Economic Level of Leakage;<\/li>\n<li>Identify some of the leak detection techniques and technologies used;<\/li>\n<li>List the criteria for the PRV selection;<\/li>\n<li>Discuss regarding meter selection;<\/li>\n<li>List the factors that should take into account when designing a DMA;<\/li>\n<li>Explain a typical District Meter Area (DMA) Scheme;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Discuss about the DMA management including maintenance and monitoring;<\/li>\n<li>List and explain the types of problems of DMAs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>T<\/strong><strong>r<\/strong><strong>aining Method<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The training is based on lectures presented in Power Point, combined\u00a0 with \u00a0discussions.
