Ky qytet m\u00eb par\u00eb furnizohej nga stacioni i pompimit n\u00eb fshatin Bambull rreth 5 km larg, me an\u00eb t\u00eb dy pompave (220 kw dhe 250 kw), t\u00eb cilat konsumonin minimalisht 125.000 kw n\u00eb muaj, p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb amortizimit t\u00eb rrjetit t\u00eb transmentimit dhe rrjetit t\u00eb shp\u00ebrndarjes. N\u00eb koh\u00ebn e ver\u00ebs, furnizimi me uj\u00eb zgjaste 2 – 3 or\u00eb n\u00eb dit\u00eb, nd\u00ebrsa n\u00eb stin\u00ebn e dimrit; shkonte ve\u00e7se deri n\u00eb 6 or\u00eb n\u00eb dit\u00eb. Me an\u00eb t\u00eb k\u00ebtij sistemi sigurohej furnizimi i gati 30.000 m3 uj\u00eb n\u00eb dit\u00eb, duke e v\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb pun\u00eb sistemin e pompimit 24 or\u00eb pa pushim.<\/p>\n N\u00eb maj 2015, shoq\u00ebria filloi punimet p\u00ebr nd\u00ebrtimin e sistemit me vete rrjedhje nga depo Nr. 2 e Tepelen\u00ebs p\u00ebr n\u00eb depon e ujit t\u00eb Bashkis\u00eb s\u00eb Memaliajt, dhe pas 5-muajsh vepra p\u00ebrfundoi me sukses. Sasia e furnizimi me uj\u00eb shkon mesatarisht 50 l\/s dhe maksimalisht shkon deri n\u00eb 80 l\/s gjat\u00eb dimrit. Burimi i fshatit B\u00ebn\u00e7\u00eb furnizon gati 100 l\/s n\u00eb stin\u00ebn e dimrit dhe 70 l\/s n\u00eb stin\u00ebn e ver\u00ebs, prej t\u00eb cilit Bashkia e Tepelen\u00ebs, n\u00eb stin\u00ebn e dimrit merr 10-20 l\/s dhe n\u00eb ver\u00eb 30-40 l\/s nd\u00ebrsa pjesa tjet\u00ebr shkon p\u00ebr Bashkin\u00eb e Memaliajt. Edhe pse duhen deri n\u00eb 20 l\/s p\u00ebr konsum, \u00a0sistemi i ri i furnizimit me uj\u00eb ka nj\u00eb kapacitet furnizues prej 60 l\/s. Gravity supply schemes have lower operational costs compared to pumped water supply schemes, which require the use of energy.<\/p>\n Tepelena Water Utility covers two municipalities with its services, Tepelena and Memaliaj. Until recently, the utility had operated both schemes for water supply. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Bambull Memaliaj \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Benc Tepelen\u00eb<\/em><\/p>\n The water supply project for the Municipality of Memaliaj, which has been under development since 2011, involved a long transmission main of 7.4 km, starting from Reservoir No. 2 in the Municipality of Tepelena to the reservoir of the Municipality of Memaliaj, with an average flow rate of 40 l\/s and the difference in height of 18.5 m.<\/p>\n In May 2015, the utility began the construction of the gravity supply scheme from Reservoir No. 2 of Tepelena to the reservoir of the Municipality of Memaliaj, and after 5-months the work was completed successfully. The average flow rate is 50 l\/s, and the maximum goes up to 80 l\/s during winter. The supply source coming from the Village of Bence supplies about 100 l\/s of water during winter and 70 l\/s during summer, from which the Municipality of Tepelena, during the winter gets 10-20 l\/s and during the summer, 30 – 40 l\/s, while the rest goes to supply the Municipality of Memaliaj. <\/p>\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\nThe Municipality of Memaliaj, together with its surrounding areas has a population of nearly 8,000 inhabitants. It was previously supplied from a pumping station in the Village of Bambull, about 5 km away, by two pumps (220 kW and 250 kW), consuming a minimum of 125,000 kWh\u2019s per month, due to the amortization of the transmission main and the distribution networks. During the summer, the water supply lasted for 2 – 3 hours per day, while during winter; it only increased to about 6 hours per day. This system ensured a supply of nearly 30,000 cubic meters of water a day, causing the pumping system to operate 24 hours a day.<\/p>\nThis investment is only one of the interventions that the Tepelena Water Utility is undertaking to\u00a0increase performance efficiencies and improve service delivery quality for its customers.\u00a0 The new investment saves up to 125,000 kWh of electrical energy per month.\u00a0 For the utility, these energy savings amount up to 50% of the total revenues of the utility.\u00a0 \u201cBased on our provisions, if we keep managing this situation, in year 2016, for the first time, we will be able to cover our operating costs, while at the same time, increase the hours of water supply and ensure proper billing for the customers through the use of newly installed water meters.\u00a0 Our challenges are focused on improving the distribution network of the two municipalities, so that we can ensure 24-hours of pressurized water supply throughout the year, using the gravity-fed scheme with spring water.
