On 08 August, SHUKALB organized meetings with representatives of the municipalities and the respective water utilities of Malesia e Madhe and Shkodra. The purpose of these meetings was to share what is happening in the water sector and what SHUKALB is doing to support the sector and its members.<\/p>\n

The first meeting was held at the municipality of Malesi e Madhe, attended by Deputy Mayor, Mr. Sytki Ndrecaj and Director of UK Malesi e Madhe, Mr. Flauers Shoshi, while the second meeting was held in the Municipality of Shkodra, attended by the Mayor, Mrs. Voltana Ademi and the Director of UK Shkodra, Mr. Mark Molla.\u00a0 From SHUKALB were present Mr. Philip Giantris, Executive Director and Mr. Alban Kushi, the Manager of Members Services.<\/p>\n

The meetings started with a presentation about the association, its vision and mission objectives.\u00a0 Mr. Giantris brought to attention some of the challenges and opportunities faced by municipalities and water utilities, also in the framework of the recent reforms in the sector.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kushi continued with a presentation on what SHUKALB is doing to immediately support its members and the sector, through its activities, programs, training courses, projects, conferences and various communications through monthly Burimi e-newsletter, website and social media.\u00a0 Special importance was dedicated to the \u201cBusiness Plan for Performance Improvement\u201d training course, that SHUKALB will deliver in September, stressing out the necessity of water supply and sewerage companies to prepare the 5 year Business Plan.<\/p>\n

At both meetings, the Municipality and the respective water company presented an overview of the current situation of their area of coverage, the efforts that are being made for assets inventory on the new areas and problems arising, network repairs and the needs for new investments.<\/p>\n

At the end, SHUKALB assessed with high interest the issues that were raised during the meetings and promised to include them for discussion at the agenda of the upcoming Board meetings and events.[:]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
