SHUKALB is proud to share the report of the German Development Bank-KfW that features the Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Korca Water Supply and Sewerage Company, a member of SHUKALB. \u00a0The report evaluates the Wastewater Treatment Plant as one of the most successful and functional investments of the KfW Financial Cooperation Projects, rating it with the highest grade 1 (on a scale from 1 to 5).<\/p>\n

This evaluation comes at an important time, since 2017 has been announced as the Year of Wastewater by the United Nations. \u00a0Albania still has a long way to go when it comes to wastewater treatment, but having an excellent example in Korca, says that all things are possible for Albania. \u00a0The capital needs are high, as are the needs for an adequate and qualified workforce, who will be operating and maintaining the wastewater treatments plants to guarantee the meeting of standards, and sustainability of these expensive investments.\u00a0 Nevertheless, the example of Korca serves as an encouragement for replication of such success stories in the future.<\/p>\n
