Zef Ma\u00e7i, i cili fal\u00ebnderoi nx\u00ebn\u00ebsit dhe m\u00ebsuesit e shkoll\u00ebs fillore “Gjergj Kastrioti” p\u00ebr angazhimin e tyre n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb program dhe ofroi mb\u00ebshtetjen e tij n\u00eb iniciativa t\u00eb tilla t\u00eb \u00e7muara t\u00eb nd\u00ebrmarra nga SHUKALB.<\/p>\n

12 October signs the World Water Monitoring Day.\u00a0 All the elementary schools across Albania, involved in SHUKALB\u2019s World Water Monitoring Challenge program, in collaboration with their respective water utilities, recognized this day by measuring specific elements of water quality such as temperature, turbidity, pH, dissolved oxygen in water bodies near their cities, such as rivers, lakes, and sea.<\/p>\n

The World Water Monitoring Challenge program targets students of eighth grade in elementary schools of Tirane, Durres, Rrogozhine, Kavaje, Elbasan, Vlore, Sarande, Berat, Kucove, Permet, Fier, Tepelene, Korce, Erseke, Pogradec, Peqin, Gramsh, Lezhe, Shkoder, Fushe-Arrez, Bulqize, Burrel, Puke, Kukes.<\/p>\n

The programs goal is to educate and engage students in the protection of the water resources, and it is being offered by SHUKALB in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth of Albania, and funded by the US Embassy in Albania.<\/p>\n

SHUAKLB\u2019s Program Manager, Olta Ceca, attended the activities organised by the students of 8-th grade in \u201cGjergj Kastrioti\u201d elementary school in Lezha, on the occasion of World Water Monitoring Day.\u00a0 Under the supervision of their chemistry teacher, the students performed different testing on the water quality of Drin River.\u00a0 The students were equipped with T-shirt stamped with the logo of World Water Monitoring Challenge Program and test kits that were used for monitoring.<\/p>\n

This initiative was also supported and attended by the Director of Lezha Water Supply and Sewerage Company (Lezha WSSC), Mr. Zef Maci, who thanked the students and teachers of \u201cGjergj Kastrioti\u201d elementary school for their commitment to this program, and offered his support in such valuable initiatives undertaken by SHUKALB.<\/p>\n

The same tests were performed as well in all the other elementary schools that are participating in this program.<\/p>\n
