Sfida e menaxhimit t\u00eb nj\u00eb sistemi t\u00eb furnizimit me uj\u00eb q\u00eb \u00ebsht\u00eb me nd\u00ebrprerje dhe me nivele t\u00eb larta t\u00eb ujit pa t\u00eb ardhura i p\u00ebrball menaxher\u00ebt e shoq\u00ebrive t\u00eb uj\u00ebsjell\u00ebsit me nj\u00eb dilem\u00eb rreth asaj se si t’i trajtojm\u00eb ato. \u00a0Edhe pse ekziston nj\u00eb qasje e p\u00ebrgjithshme p\u00ebr p\u00ebrcaktimin sasior dhe menaxhimin e ujit pa t\u00eb ardhura bazuar n\u00eb praktikat m\u00eb t\u00eb mira t\u00eb IWA-s\u00eb, aplikimi i tyre ndaj sistemeve t\u00eb furnizimit me uj\u00eb me nd\u00ebrprerje paraqet sfida t\u00eb m\u00ebdha p\u00ebr profesionist\u00ebt.<\/p>\n

\u00cbsht\u00eb e njohur se shprehja e humbjeve t\u00eb ujit (ose uji pa t\u00eb ardhura) n\u00eb p\u00ebrqindje t\u00eb hyrjeve n\u00eb sistem \u00ebsht\u00eb \u00e7orientuese n\u00eb rastin m\u00eb t\u00eb mir\u00eb dhe nuk funksionon aspak n\u00eb nj\u00eb situat\u00eb t\u00eb FUN (Kjo \u00ebsht\u00eb arsyeja pse nj\u00eb % humbje e ujit mund t\u00eb jet\u00eb e ul\u00ebt n\u00ebse nj\u00eb kompani ka vet\u00ebm disa or\u00eb furnizim me uj\u00eb n\u00eb dit\u00eb).<\/em><\/p>\n

Treguesit e performanc\u00ebs s\u00eb humbjeve t\u00eb ujit, p\u00ebr shembull humbjet fizike n\u00eb litra \/ lidhje \/ dit\u00eb, gjithmon\u00eb duhet t\u00eb rregullohen me furnizimin e vazhduesh\u00ebm (akronimi i p\u00ebrdorur \u00ebsht\u00eb “w.s.p” – “kur sistemi \u00ebsht\u00eb n\u00ebn presion”). \u00a0Vet\u00ebm me k\u00ebt\u00eb tregues (dhe presionin mesatar operues) mund t\u00eb kuptohet niveli i humbjeve t\u00eb ujit dhe transformimi nga FUN n\u00eb furnizim t\u00eb vazhduesh\u00ebm t\u00eb planifikuar.<\/p>\n

Intermittent Water Supply (IWS) refers to piped water supply service that is available to consumers less than 24 hours per day. In an IWS situation, consumers usually secure their water supply through the use of ground and\/or roof tanks or smaller containers, where water is stored during the length of time that the supply is provided.<\/p>\n

IWS is not an ideal form of supply and should not constitute a permanent solution; however, it is applied by many water utilities with great ease mainly as a measure for dealing with water shortage or drought conditions without seriously looking into alternative solutions. However, in some cases, water utilities are applying IWS as a measure to reduce extremely high leakage from their networks, which of course prevents them from maintaining a continuously pressurized network with all the adverse repercussions to the network integrity and level of service to the customers.<\/p>\n

The challenge of managing a water supply system that is intermittent and with high levels of NRW poses water company managers with a conundrum regarding how to address these. Although there is a generic approach for quantification and management of NRW based on IWA best practices, their application to intermittent water supply systems poses great challenges to practitioners.<\/p>\n

It is well known that expressing water losses (or NRW) in percentage of system input is misleading in the best case and does not work at all in an IWS situation (That is why a % water loss can be low if a company has only a few hours water supply per day<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Water loss performance indicators, for example physical losses in litres\/connection\/day, always need to be adjusted to continuous supply (the acronym used is \u201cw.s.p.\u201d \u2013 \u201cwhen the system is pressurized\u201d). Only with this indicator (and the average operating pressure) the level of water loss can be understood and the transformation from IWS to continuous supply planned.<\/p>\n

To turn this situation around and to stop the vicious cycle of continuous deterioration of NRW levels it is imperative that a structured approach is established and the required interventions are put in place in order to have sustainable results for the water companies. Tangible and practical actions should be effected through structured interventions within the framework of a NRW Strategic Action Plan based on a validated Baseline Assessment which will entail the necessary short, medium and long term interventions.<\/p>\n

Transitioning from intermittent supply to continuous is not an easy task and should be done in a cost effective manner combining improved operations with targeted capital works. This approach has to be based on sound data, good technical modeling, the introduction of good management practices, particularly related to commercial and technical efficiency and the assessment of different options to find the most cost effective solution.<\/p>\n

Furthermore it is imperative to create a well-functioning company that has the capacity, know-how and expertise to operate the system through the introduction of modern management systems, procedures and equipment.[:]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
