P\u00ebr pastrimin e ujit t\u00eb ndotur, sistemi BEVER shfryt\u00ebzon procesin me llumi aktiv. N\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb process ndotja degradohet biologjikisht nga mikroorganizmat e shp\u00ebrndara n\u00eb uj\u00eb. K\u00ebto mikroorganizma formojn\u00eb grumbuj, t\u00eb ashtuquajtur llum aktiv. Sistemi BEVER \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb sistem kompakt dhe i integruar n\u00eb t\u00eb cilin tanku i fund\u00ebrrimit, sistemi i ajrimit dhe kulluesi i llumit jan\u00eb t\u00eb integruara n\u00eb tankun e trajtimit t\u00eb ujit. \u00cbsht\u00eb v\u00ebrtetuar se sistemi BEVER mund t\u00eb p\u00ebrdoret n\u00eb shum\u00eb situata sikurse n\u00eb agrikultur\u00eb, vende rekreative dhe n\u00eb raste t\u00eb tjera si restorante, qum\u00ebshtore, ferma dhe fshatra t\u00eb vogla. Rregullime teknike dhe zhvillimi i zgjidhjeve inovative jan\u00eb t\u00eb nevojshme dhe duhet t\u00eb testohen n\u00eb praktik\u00eb. Zhvillimi eksperimental dhe rregullimet e mundshme t\u00eb sistemit jan\u00eb t\u00eb nevojshme p\u00ebr shkak t\u00eb:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Produkteve tipike shqiptare: lloji i djathit m\u00eb i r\u00ebnd\u00ebsish\u00ebm n\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri \u00ebsht\u00eb djathi i bardh\u00eb (feta). Kjo teknologji mund t\u00eb aplikohet n\u00eb mbar\u00eb Ballkanin, rajon ky q\u00eb karakterizohet me shum\u00eb kompani t\u00eb vogla t\u00eb p\u00ebrpunimit t\u00eb qum\u00ebshtit.<\/p>\n<p>Industria ushqimore dhe sektori i ujit n\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri jan\u00eb duke marr\u00eb masa q\u00eb t\u00eb jen\u00eb n\u00eb p\u00ebrputhje me standardet shqiptare dhe (s\u00eb shpejti) ato evropiane t\u00eb trajtimit t\u00eb uj\u00ebrave t\u00eb ndotura, por sidoqoft\u00eb, nj\u00eb teknologji e p\u00ebrshtatshme uji n\u00eb nivel lokal \u00ebsht\u00eb e limituar. (Kosovo) and Jan Boele de Jong, Afmitech Friesland (Netherlands)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Klaas Visscher, Yuniko (Netherlands)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Albania has a major challenge in wastewater processing and, in general, Albanian companies have difficulty with complying to the applicable discharge norms, standards and regulations. In the food industry purification of wastewater is at a low level and generally the sector discharge its wastewater directly or indirectly to surface water. This is a major challenge, especially for the dairy processing industry. The discharge of dairy and other industrial and municipal wastewater causes that almost all the rivers and lakes in Albania are seriously polluted. In the future, in order to meet the standards for discharge of wastewater, the food industry has to accomplish significant investments.<\/p>\n<p>Water companies in Albania have started with constructing and putting in operation of wastewater treatment plants for smaller and bigger cities. In order to improve the surface water quality in Albania, in the near future the dairy industry also has to reduce the discharge of wastewater to surface water and sewage system. Besides, a centralized and branched sewage system is not always present. So, to significantly improve (waste) water management in the medium term, decentralized wastewater treatment will be an essential part of this.<\/p>\n<p>Considering this, the Dutch companies, Afmitech Friesland B.V. and Yuniko B.V., supported by the Netherlands Partners for Water programme, have started a pilot plant project for a decentralized waste water treatment system at dairy processing companies in Albania. The Project will be supported by the Polytechnic University of Tirana which will be involved in the research process, as well as by the Water Supply and Sewerage Association of Albania (SHUKALB), which will support the dissemination of the best practices and experience gained through the Project. \u00a0Important private partners in Albania that are the target of the Project are the dairy processing companies Erzeni (in Berat) and Ajka (in Gorre, Lushnje).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The BEVER System<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Afmitech Friesland provides a water technology, called the <em>BEVER System<\/em>. For purifying wastewater, the BEVER system makes use of the activated sludge process, a common principle which is used worldwide. By this process the organic pollution is degraded biologically by means of microorganisms in the water. The BEVER system is a compact and integrated system at which the settling tank, aeration system and sludge thickener is integrated in the water treatment tank. The system has proven to be applicable in a wide range of situations like agricultural, recreational and industrial sectors including restaurants, dairies, farms and small villages. The system can be placed into the ground or can be insulated thermally in order to cope with extreme local weather conditions. This wastewater treatment system can be used in situations varying from 22 up to 500 population equivalent (p.e.), and, on request, for situations that require larger capacities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aim of the project <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The technology must be tuned to the local conditions in Albania. Technical adjustments and the development of innovative solutions are necessary and should be tested in practice. The experimental development and possible adjustments of the system are necessary because of:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>Typical Albanian products: the most important cheese product in Albania is white cheese (cf. feta). This is relatively young, fresh cheese whose composition differs from the usual hard, yellow cheeses. As a result, the composition of the rinsing water and cheese whey is different than in Europe. The effects of this on the functioning of the BEVER system will be investigated.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Water consumption: dairy companies in Albania have a specific water consumption of approximately 3 liters of water per liter of processed milk. For comparison: in the Netherlands this is around 1.2 liters of water\/liter of milk. The effect of this &#8220;dilution&#8221; on the efficiency of the BEVER system must be investigated and verified. <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The investigations will result in modifications of the BEVER system and make the technology specifically suitable for Albania. The technology can be applied throughout the Balkans, a region characterized by many small-scale dairy processing companies.<\/p>\n<p>The Albanian food industry and water sector are busy taking measures to comply with Albanian and (soon) EU standards for wastewater treatment, however, locally appropriate water technology there is available limitedly. With this pilot project it will be demonstrated that the BEVER technology can very well match to the Albanian situation and that the technology can play a role in the future remediation of industrial wastewater in Albania.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, this technology is also suitable for small villages and districts where centralized sewer system is missing and it will take time and high costs to connect these small villages to a central wastewater treatment plant.<\/p>\n<p>The test programme is expected to start at the end of September of this year.
