Sektori i uj\u00ebrave t\u00eb ndotura n\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri \u00ebsht\u00eb par\u00eb historikisht si nj\u00eb industri e mbizot\u00ebruar nga burrat, ve\u00e7an\u00ebrisht n\u00eb rolet teknike dhe t\u00eb menaxhimit. Ekzistojn\u00eb shum\u00eb arsye t\u00eb mundshme p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb mosp\u00ebrputhje, duke p\u00ebrfshir\u00eb munges\u00ebn e interesit t\u00eb femrave n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb fush\u00eb, boshll\u00ebqet gjinore n\u00eb pun\u00ebsime dhe p\u00ebrfaq\u00ebsimin e ul\u00ebt t\u00eb roleve t\u00eb grave n\u00eb rolet drejtuese. Student\u00ebt jan\u00eb n\u00eb fazat fillestare t\u00eb zhvillimit t\u00eb nj\u00eb rrjeti t\u00eb grave profesioniste q\u00eb punojn\u00eb n\u00eb sektorin e uj\u00ebrave t\u00eb ndotura n\u00eb SH.B.A., Shqip\u00ebri dhe vendet t\u00eb tjera n\u00eb Ballkan. Rrjeti do t\u00eb rris\u00eb mund\u00ebsit\u00eb p\u00ebr k\u00ebshillim dhe bashk\u00ebpunim. Student\u00ebt gjithashtu planifikojn\u00eb t\u00eb prodhojn\u00eb nj\u00eb webinar q\u00eb thekson p\u00ebrvojat e grave n\u00eb industri dhe strategjit\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u00eb rritur mund\u00ebsit\u00eb e pun\u00ebsimit, mbajtjen dhe p\u00ebrparimin.<\/p>\n

Since 2013, SHUKALB has been collaborating with Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), USA, on a number of projects related to the water sector and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education that involve a team of WPI students working in Albania for a period of 8 weeks. This year, the WPI team is focusing on women in the wastewater industry.<\/p>\n

The wastewater sector in Albania has historically been viewed as a male-dominated industry, particularly in technical and management roles. There are many potential reasons for this discrepancy, including lack of female interest in the field, gender gaps in hiring, and low representation of female role models in leadership roles. The students hope to identify opportunities for women in Albania\u2019s wastewater sector and to reduce gender bias for women working in the industry.<\/p>\n

The students are at the beginning stages of developing a network of women professionals working in the wastewater sector from the USA, Albania, and other countries in the Balkans. The network will increase opportunities for mentoring and collaboration. The students also plan to produce a webinar highlighting the experiences of women in the industry and strategies to increase employment opportunities, retention, and advancement.<\/p>\n
