For the second year in a row, SHUKALB has joined efforts with the Rotary Club of Haifa in Israel, Hi-Teach, and Rotary Club of Tirana International for organizing the Rotary Hands Across Waters (RHAW) innovative STEAM educational program for the high schools in Albania.\u00a0 The RHAW Program uses the global Water and Sanitation challenge and advanced new solutions as base for collaborative cross-cultural science education. It was developed by Hi-Teach, and it is run in association with the Rotary, hosted by the Haifa Rotary Club and many partnering Rotary Clubs, Industries, Government, Academia and NGO\u2019s, all over the world.<\/p>\n
As part of the program, the participating schools create twinning and establish exchanges with other schools that are part of the program, in other countries.\u00a0 SHUKALB has implemented the RHAW Program during the current academic year in two high schools in Tirana, the “Ismail Qemali” and “Qemal Stafa”, and plans to extend this program to more schools across the country, with the support of its member water utilities as well.<\/p>\n
On the World Water Day, 22 March 2022, as the final stage of the program, it was organized virtually the annual international graduation event, where the 65 participating schools all over the world, presented their water related science projects. Schools from Israel, Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Lithuania, Poland, Kosovo, Albania and the USA collaborated in regard of water and environment issues, presenting posters and videos during a live webinar. Albania was introduced by two high schools from Tirana, “Ismail Qemali” and “Qemal Stafa”.<\/p>\n
