SHUKALB Finalizes Successfully the Delivery of RCDN’s Capacity Development Program \u201cIntroduction of Wastewater Systems for Managers and Engineers\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

During December 2022, SHUKALB delivered successfully the 2-day training on \u201cManagement of Infrastructure Projects\u201d, and a 1-day Peer Exchange on Successful Infrastructure Wastewater Collection and Treatment Projects in Albania: Case Study of Velipoja Wastewater Treatment Plant.\u00a0 Both events were delivered in the framework of the Capacity Development Program titled \u201cIntroduction of Wastewater Systems for managers and engineers\u201d, which was piloted for the first time in the framework of the Project Regional Capacity Development Network for Water and Sanitation Services (RCDN).<\/p>\n

The 2-day training, \u201cManagement of Infrastructure Projects\u201d was organized on 5-6 December 2022, in Tirana. The training was attended by representatives from Water Supply and Sewerage Companies of Vlora, Shkoder, Lezhe, Kamez, Fier and Himare, as well as Municipalities of Vlore and Lezhe. The training was led by Evis Gjebrea<\/strong>, General Deputy Director of the Tirana Supply and Sewerage Company and Jovan Gjika<\/strong>, Project Coordinator, National Agency for Water, Wastewater and Waste Management (AKUM).<\/p>\n

The overall objective of the training was for participants to be able to enhance their knowledge on project related aspects for collection and treatment of wastewater and to analyze said projects and take decisions based on that.<\/p>\n

During the 2 days of the training participants were introduced to topics such as Project Cycle for Wastewater Collection and Treatment Infrastructure Projects, Project Cycle Phases, Feasibility Study and Wastewater Management Plan, as well as were engaged in several group exercises.<\/p>\n

The next day, on 7 December 2022, participants attended the peer exchange on Successful Infrastructure Wastewater Collection and Treatment Projects in Albania: Case Study of Velipoja. The peer exchange was moderated by Kristina Kreka<\/strong>, Head of the European Integration Unit, Strategic Projects and Foreign Aid, Municipality of Elbasan and Blerina Arrtunda<\/strong>, Manager of Shiroka and Velipoja Wastewater Treatment Plant, Shkodra Water Supply and Sewerage Company.<\/p>\n

The overall objective of the peer exchange was for participants to be able to increase their knowledge on the implementation of sewerage and wastewater treatment infrastructure projects and share their experiences on WTP infrastructure projects in their municipalities and utilities.<\/p>\n

Participants made a visit to Velipoja Waste water Treatment Plant were they were introduced to technological processes of the plant and the preparation and implementation of the Infrastructural Project for Sewage and Water Treatment in Velipoja. After the visit, the peer exchange continued in Tirana, where participants were introduced to topics of Phase of preparation and implementation of projects in WWT Infrastructure; Successful Implementation of the Sewerage Infrastructure and Wastewater Treatment Project in Velipoje and Preparation of the Action Plan. In addition, participants were engaged in interactive discussions on good practices and exchanged their experiences on WWT Infrastructure Projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
