Elisabeta Poci, Executive Director of SHUKALB attended the 5th<\/sup> GWOPA Congress, in Bonn, Germany, on 22-25 May 2023, together with other colleagues from the Danube region, Katerina Schilling, Head of IAWD Secretariat, and Aleksandar Krstic, UBP Coordinator of IAWD\u2018s Danube Hub. \u00a0Ms. Poci participated at the side event titled \u201cNew Tools for Utilities to Move Forward: Self-Assessment and Benchmarking for Performance, Management, and Credit Worthiness\u201d, <\/em>organized on 23 May 2023.<\/p>\n

The objective of the side event was to highlight a number of Innovative World Bank Tools available to Utilities to improve performance management and transparency \u2013 respectively by self-assessing and benchmarking their own management, performance and creditworthiness in comparison with others. The tools include the NewIBNET platform and partnership that invites utilities to regularly share their data on key performance indicators and management practices so as to be able to compare themselves and learn from other comparable utilities around the world (www.NewIBNET.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Ms. Poci presented the ongoing benchmarking activities of SHUKALB in partnership with SHUKOS, and in the framework of the Danube Learning Partnership (D-LeaP).<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Ms. Poci attended the session \u201cSouth Eastern Europe Regional session: Let\u2019s see, could we WOP SEE?\u201d<\/em> on 23 May 2023. This session aimed to showcase previous and ongoing WOPs activities of water operators in the region, to provide a glance in who-is-who regarding the interest in WOPs activities in the region, and to bring these stakeholders together to discuss what may be some of potential supporting opportunities and what may be some likely challenges to address properly if a WOP SEE platform should be initiated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
