SHUKALB Successfully Launches the First Workshop of the D-LeaP Access to Finance Program<\/strong><\/h1>\n

On January 30\u201331, 2025, SHUKALB successfully launched the initial workshop of the\u00a0D-LeaP Access to Finance Program, marking a significant step toward strengthening financial management capabilities in the water supply and sewerage sector. The event brought together representatives from the\u00a0Water Supply and Sewerage Companies\u00a0of Saranda, Berat, Gjirokaster, Shkoder, Elbasan, and Vlore, alongside representatives from the\u00a0Water Regulatory Authority (ERRU)\u00a0and the\u00a0National Agency of Water Supply and Sewerage (AKUK). This initiative is supported by the\u00a0Danube Learning Partnership (D-LeaP)\u00a0and the\u00a0RCDN+ project.<\/p>\n

The program is designed to empower participants with the knowledge and tools needed to achieve\u00a0financial sustainability\u00a0and support decision-makers in making\u00a0informed financial decisions\u00a0for improved water service delivery.<\/p>\n

Workshop Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop was facilitated by esteemed trainers\u00a0Monika Vejseli,\u00a0Valbona Paja, and\u00a0Ariola Korreshi. Throughout the preparation and delivery of the training, SHUKALB and the trainers received valuable support from the\u00a0technical partner IAWD.<\/p>\n

  • Understanding Financial Statements of PUCs<\/li>\n
  • Operating and Financial Performance of PUCs<\/li>\n
  • Financial Concepts for Investment and Financing Decisions<\/li>\n
  • Financial and Economic Analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In addition to the presentations, participants took part in\u00a0interactive group exercises\u00a0and were assigned\u00a0practical homework\u00a0to reinforce their learning and apply the concepts in real-world scenarios.<\/p>\n

    A Step Toward Sustainable Water Services<\/strong><\/p>\n

    This workshop represents a critical milestone in SHUKALB\u2019s efforts to build the financial management capacity of water service providers. By equipping participants with the skills to make informed financial decisions, the program contributes to the long-term sustainability and efficiency of water services in Albania.<\/p>\n
