The meeting brought together representatives from water utility companies of Shkoder, Durres, Vlore, Kamez, Gjirokaster, Diber, and Elbasan, alongside officials from the Water Regulatory Authority (ERRU), the National Agency for Water Supply and Sanitation (AKUK), the Association for Local Autonomy, and SHUKALB. Facilitated by Monika Vejseli, Water Expert, the gathering served as a crucial step toward defining roles, expectations, and contributions, ultimately laying the foundation for a well-coordinated and effective working group.<\/p>\n<p>Discussions throughout the meeting revolved around key aspects of workforce development, from recruitment to retention and development processes. A significant part of the discussion focused on the key challenges the water sector faces when it comes to finding and attracting talent, with a particular focus on young professionals and qualified workers. Participants engaged in meaningful conversations about the importance of strengthening workforce capacities to ensure the sustainable and efficient delivery of water services across Albania.<\/p>\n<p>As the sector continues to evolve, SHUKALB remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing professional development and fostering a highly skilled and capable workforce.
