SHUKALB Leads Water Awareness Efforts on World Water Day 2025<\/strong><\/h1>\n

World Water Day, observed annually on March 22nd<\/sup> , serves as a global platform to highlight critical water-related issues and inspire action from governments, organizations, and individuals alike. This year\u2019s theme, “Glacier Preservation,” emphasizes the vital role of glaciers in sustaining freshwater resources and ensuring communities dependent on them receive essential hydrological, meteorological, and climate services.<\/p>\n

As part of its long-standing commitment to water awareness, SHUKALB partnered again with water utilities across Albania to drive impactful public education initiatives. To support their outreach, SHUKALB developed and distributed engaging materials\u2014including short videos, posters, and digital content\u2014designed to raise awareness on key topics such as water conservation and understanding water bills. These resources were widely used in social media campaigns run by water utilities in their cities.<\/p>\n

In addition to digital efforts, SHUKALB provided informative leaflets, branded T-shirts, tote bags, posters, and roll-ups featuring the World Water Day logo alongside those participating utilities. These materials were central to community-focused awareness activities held across the country.<\/p>\n

In Korca, elementary school students toured the local wastewater treatment plant, where utility staff introduced them to the wastewater treatment process and its significance for environmental sustainability. Meanwhile, 10th<\/sup> -grade students from Preka College took part in an interactive session exploring the importance of water conservation, sustainable management, and responsible waste disposal as key factors in protecting natural resources.<\/p>\n

In Shkoder and Sarande, water utilities brought World Water Day to the heart of their cities, organizing public events that encouraged community discussions on water-related challenges and solutions. Informative leaflets were distributed to help citizens better understand water preservation efforts. Similarly, Durres regional water utility extended its outreach by hosting awareness events across all the municipalities it serves.<\/p>\n

Through these initiatives, SHUKALB reaffirmed its dedication to promoting water education and empowering communities to play an active role in protecting their waters resources.<\/p>\n
