Call for Abstracts Is Now Open \u2013 \u201cWater and Equal Opportunities\u201d, 14th<\/sup> Balkans Joint Conference and Exhibition<\/strong><\/h1>\n

On behalf of SHUKALB and SHUKOS, we are pleased to invite you to join and participate in the Program of the 14th<\/sup><\/strong> Balkans Joint Conference and Exhibition<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, which will be held from 3\u20135 November 2026<\/strong><\/span> in Prishtina, Kosova<\/span>, <\/strong>at the Emerald Hotel<\/a><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The theme of the Conference, \u201cWater and Equal Opportunities\u201d<\/strong><\/span>, highlights the importance of building a water sector that is not only technically strong, but also fair, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of communities. Inspired by the UN World Water Day 2026 theme, \u201cWater and Gender\u201d, this year\u2019s Conference takes a broader perspective, addressing both equitable access to water and sanitation services and equal opportunities within the water sector itself.<\/p>\n

Access to safe, reliable, and affordable water and sanitation services is essential for public health, economic development, and quality of life. Yet disparities in access and service quality continue to affect communities across the region and beyond. Ensuring that no one is left behind requires utilities, governments, and stakeholders to work together to secure services that are planned and delivered in a way that is accessible, resilient, and responsive to the needs of all citizens.<\/p>\n

At the same time, better services depend on strong institutions and skilled professionals. As the sector faces challenges such as infrastructure modernization, regulatory compliance, digital transformation, climate pressure, and workforce renewal, it is essential to attract and retain talented professionals, support career development, and promote equal opportunities for participation and leadership.<\/p>\n

The Conference will provide a platform for discussion across policy, technical, and management topics, enabling participants to share experiences, research, and practical solutions, while also offering valuable networking opportunities for the regional water sector.<\/p>\n

We therefore invite professionals, institutions, utilities, private sector representatives, academia, and young professionals to submit abstracts and actively contribute to the program.<\/p>\n
